Digital Product Designer

Full time, starting February 2018, Berlin office

Yoshino develops innovative digital products and provides e-commerce solutions and online communication for healthcare brands. We put great emphasis on high-quality design, user-centred design, and careful technical implementation.

What will you do for us?

Your responsibilities will include taking care of both the layout and design for one-pagers, micro-sites, and e-commerce pages, as well as the ongoing expansion of our front-end component system. Our small team will appreciate your commitment and reliable, structured and independent way of working.

We intend to recruit two people in this role, so you will be starting alongside another new colleague. You will both work closely with our Product Manager and Frontend Lead, complementing each other and exchanging ideas. You will have the chance to be directly involved in developing and shaping our teams and workflows. We will hold UX workshops where you’ll be able to draw on your experience to contribute to the discussion.

What will you learn from us?

We want you to grow with us. We want to expand your technical expertise and sharpen your capacity for systematic thinking in the design process. It is important to us that in every job there is always a rapid transition from the graphics software to the code editor and browser. Our Frontend Lead is a lecturer in interaction design and holds design workshops for agency clients.

The position of Product Designer is ideal for you if you are interested in the psychological and technical aspects of user-centric interaction design and would like to develop in this area.

What do we expect from you?

  • a degree in design and an impressive online portfolio
  • a strong understanding of interaction design, usability, and user-centric design
  • good knowledge of HTML and CSS (you will sometimes be creating layouts directly in the browser), basic JavaScript skills a plus
  • 2–4 years’ experience as a designer in a digital agency or equivalent
  • curiosity and genuine love for your work
  • the ability to communicate fluently in English or German (either is okay)

What will we offer you?

  • an attractive salary, flexible working hours, generous holiday
  • a modern office directly on Helmholtzplatz
  • a new Mac of your choice
  • the choice between membership of a fitness club (Fitness First Platinum, Holmes Place, etc.) or a pass for public transport in central Berlin (VBB Umweltkarte AB)
  • a budget for training, further education, literature, conference tickets, etc.

How can you apply?

Write to us with a link to your online portfolio. We will get back to you. If we are impressed by your application, we’ll invite you for an interview. We look forward to hearing from you!
